Start Living Your Life Again
Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Psalm 90:12
I picked it up from my friend Ken Gaydos, and I suspect that he got the idea from someone he had heard. It’s concluding an interview with the question, “If you could live your life all over again, what would you do differently?”
In his book, Who Switched the Price Tags?, Tony Campolo tells about a survey in which people over age 95 were asked that same question, “If you could live your life over again, what would you do differently?” Most of the responses fell into three categories. Most people wished they had risked more. For them life had been too safe, too calculated. They fell into a routine and were afraid to break out of it‑‑same job, same neighborhood, same environment, same routine, day in and day out. They wonder what adventures they missed because they were fearful of leaving the security of the routine behind.
Others wished that they had concentrated more on what was really important. For them, life had been filled with the details of the routine. The good had become the enemy of the best. As they grew older their schedule became more compressed with each passing year, and they look back and say to themselves, “Is this all there is to life?”
The third category of people expressed the feeling they wished they had done something worthwhile which would have lived on long after they died. Such was not the English missionary, what Donald Cole, tells about. She had no family, and upon her death in a faraway country, natives sold everything she possessed, and when sod grew over her grave, it was as if she had never existed. Well, not quite. You see, she had invested herself in the lives of the group she served. She taught them to read and write. She taught them a knowledge of the Word of God, and when Donald Cole later arrived where she had lived, she found a solid legacy of faith in the lives of these people. She left behind a testimony to her life, a living legacy in flesh and blood.
“If you could live your live over again, what would you do differently?” Dr. Harold Lindsell was a gifted Bible scholar and author. When he answered that question, he surprisingly said that he would study Hebrew and Greek, something he had never been able to do, in spite of the fact that his knowledge of the Word far surpasses the knowledge of most men who teach those languages.
When I asked the late Oswald Sanders the question, then 85 years of age, a one‑time attorney turned missionary statesman and Bible college president, he surprisingly said he would not do anything differently. He had no regrets having served the Lord. For him life had been an adventure and he had well invested his life for the cause of Jesus Christ.
There is one more person of whom I would like to ask that question. It is you, friend. If you could live your life all over again, what would you do differently? Now think carefully before you answer. In some cases, what’s done is done, but in other cases, what you would do, if you could do it over again, can yet be done. What’s to keep you from doing an in-flight correction and begin to move towards that goal? Instead of decrying what you haven’t done or weren’t able to do, focus on what you need to do and what God wants you to do. You can still make a difference. Until your frail body has been deprived of life and breath, it’s never too late to start over again.

Tennis: WTA sets June 30 deadline for 2021 China swing decision - sources
Sudipto Ganguly, Reuters
The WTA Tour could see its tournaments in China wiped out entirely for the second successive year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and has set a June 30 deadline for a final decision, two sources familiar with the discussions told Reuters.
China, the focus of the Tour's most aggressive expansion over the last decade, hosted nine tournaments in the 2019 season, including the elite WTA Finals, with a total $30.4 million prize money on offer.
With the sport brought to a standstill by the global health crisis, plans to stage seven events in China in the second half of last year were scrapped due to the country's strict controls on foreign visitors, which have not been relaxed a great deal since.
In April, the World University Games in Chengdu were postponed by a year until 2022 and the Asian Football Confederation was also forced to move World Cup soccer qualifiers out of China in May.
"Currently discussions with local and central government are still happening," one source said of the China-based tournaments on the 2021 calendar. "All options are being explored until end of June."
A second source confirmed that the plan was to make a final decision by the end of the month.
The Chinese Tennis Association and the WTA Tour did not respond to requests for comment.
The season-ending WTA Finals, contested by the world's top eight singles players and eight doubles teams, had a prize purse of $14 million in 2019 when it was played in Shenzhen for the first time.
The cancellation of the annual showpiece in 2020 left a big hole in the WTA's finances and making an early decision on the 2021 event would allow the Tour to relocate the event if it cannot be held in China.
Last year, the men's ATP Tour had to cancel the Shanghai Masters, Asia's only ATP Masters 1000 tournament, the China Open in Beijing, an ATP 500 event, as well as the Chengdu Open and Zhuhai Championships, both ATP 250 events.
However, the ATP Finals went ahead in London without fans and will shift to Turin for the next five years from this year.

Football: Austria's Alaba role unclear after man-of-the-match performance
AMSTERDAM - Austrian coach Franco Foda faces a dilemma about where to play regular leftback David Alaba after the captain won the man-of-the-match award for his sparkling performance as a central defender in their Euro 2020 opening win over North Macedonia.
Alaba, who became the first Austrian to get the award at a major tournament, not only delivered as a central defender but he also set up their second goal in the 3-1 win.
The performance earnded Alaba praise from his coach and he also staked a claim for that position when they face Netherlands in their second Group C game on Thursday.
The versatile 28-year-old, who joined Real Madrid after leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season, reverted back to his usual leftback/winger role in the second half to drive the game forward.
"It remains to be seen," Alaba said when asked whether he would continue to play as a central defender against the Dutch, who beat Ukraine 3-2 in their opening match.
Foda had wanted Alaba to help launch their game from the defence with more control and stability against the North Macedonians who played with two forwards in Goran Pandev and Aleksandar Trajkovski.
"Our intention was that like that we could launch our game better against two strikers," Foda said.
"That was the reason behind this decision. I was very, very satisfied with him over the entire 90 minutes. He organised the defence, talked with the defenders and also those in front of him."
The Dutch also play with two strikers which could mean that Alaba could be back at the heart of the Austrian three-man backline on Thursday.
"We want to pick up points there as well," said Alaba. (Reporting by Karolos Grohmann, editing by Pritha Sarkar)
NBA: Rudy Gobert, Ben Simmons unanimous All-Defensive First Team choices
Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert and Philadelphia 76ers guard Ben Simmons were unanimous choices for the NBA All-Defensive First Team, the league announced Monday.
Gobert and Simmons were chosen on all 100 ballots and received 200 points apiece.
Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green (176 points, 80 first-team votes) and the Milwaukee Bucks combo of guard Jrue Holiday (157, 65) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (135, 43) also were first-team selections.
Gobert, who was recently named NBA Defensive Player of the Year for the third time in the past four seasons, is a first-team all-defensive choice for the fifth straight season. He blocked a league-high 190 shots in 71 regular-season games.
Simmons made the All-Defensive First Team for the second straight season, and he was runner-up to Gobert for Defensive Player of the Year honors. Simmons had 93 steals in 58 games.
Green is a defensive first-team choice for the fourth time and Antetokounmpo was chosen for the third time. Antetokounmpo was Defensive Player of the Year last season.
The second team consists of the Miami Heat combo of forward Bam Adebayo (111, 37) and guard Jimmy Butler (111, 37), the 76ers due of center Joel Embiid (87, eight) and guard Matisse Thybulle (63, 3) and Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard (43, 8).
NBA: Nets’ Kyrie Irving (ankle) out for Game 5 vs. Bucks
The Brooklyn Nets said star point guard Kyrie Irving will not play in Game 5 of the team's Eastern Conference semifinal series Tuesday against the Milwaukee Bucks because of a right ankle sprain.
The Nets forged a 2-2 tie in the series with a 107-96 victory on Sunday, despite Irving leaving in the second quarter with his ankle injury. He scored 11 points with five rebounds and two assists in just 17 minutes and has averaged 20.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists in the series.
The Nets have also been without James Harden, who injured his hamstring after playing just one minute of Game 1 and has not seen action in the series since.
The pivotal Game 5 will take place Tuesday in Brooklyn.
Irving had X-rays on his ankle Sunday that came back negative. His timetable for a return is not known. Harden has been working out on a court in recent days, but his status remains up in the air for Game 5.
Brooklyn did not announce the severity of Irving's ankle injury but multiple reports stated he left the arena with crutches and a walking boot.
With their trio down to Durant, the Nets gradually allowed Milwaukee to surge ahead and even the series with a 107-96 victory.
Durant scored 28 points but shot 9 of 25 from the floor and had little help as Irving's 11 points were the second-highest total for the Nets, who shot 43.4 percent, missed 23 of 33 3-point tries and committed 17 turnovers.
The worst-case scenario of being down to Durant is occurring after the Nets had their stars on the floor together for eight regular-season games. All three played in the five-game series against the Boston Celtics in the first round, and the Nets posted four double-digit wins. They got an eight-point win in the series opener against Milwaukee before posting a 39-point win in Game 2.
"We've had an adverse season," Nash said.
"A lot of things have happened, we remained positive and that's what got us through the season, so we have to have that same mentality here and find a way to solve some puzzles and persevere."
Milwaukee hopes the things that proved successful in the previous two games can help them get a chance to clinch the series Thursday.
The Bucks survived nearly blowing a 21-point lead to post an 86-83 victory in Game 3 and then pulled away in the third in Game 4 when Antetokounmpo scored 12 of his 34 points.

TV5 seen profitable by 2024
TV5 Network Inc. continues to make strides in its attempt to become profitable in the next few years, sustaining its growth momentum in recent months.
While profitability for TV5 may still not happen this year, the network’s chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan said it may come by 2024.
“TV5 is doing well,” Pangilinan told The STAR.
Pangilinan earlier said the network has been making some progress, slowly erasing losses from previous years.
Pangilinan said the ABS-CBN content being shown in TV5 has helped boost the network’s ratings a bit.
Some ABS-CBN shows started airing in TV5 last January following a collaboration between Cignal, Brightlight Productions, TV5 and the Lopez-owned network.
Aside from the ABS-CBN programs, TV5 has also been aggressively producing and introducing its own entertainment content.
The company has also welcomed talents from different networks to further beef up its roster.
TV5 – through TV, radio and online platforms – broadcasts extensive sports, news and entertainment programs.
